Description
Collaborating closely with the Executive Director and supported by the Program Manager, the Associate Director will be a thought-partner on the intellectual direction and coherence of the Core Curriculum.

The associate director will attend weekly CCC/UCC meetings, participating in: new course reviews, revised course reviews, course equivalencies within NYUAD, Global site course alternate reviews. Develop and co-lead semester events and orientations. Draft communications, review and manage the annual budget. Handle grade appeals per NYUAD policy.

The position may entail international travel to align the NYUAD Core with other core curriculum programs at NYU New York and the NYU Global Academic Centers.

The start date of this appointment is September 1, 2025.


Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to the liberal arts and sciences and undergraduate education
  • Current full-time NYUAD standing faculty appointment in any division
  • Does not hold another appointment or administrative title
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Inclusive leadership/management style and experience
  • Commitment to position for no less than 18 months

Compensation and benefits
  • This position has an annual stipend
  • Full service-load equivalency (i.e. this position will be considered the fulfillment of full service requirement) however the Associate Director is expected to teach their full contractual load
