Position Summary
Provides various general accounting services and activities for the Finance Department in an effort to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and GAAP. Reconciles various general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and investment accounts, and assists in preparation of financial reports. Provides Banner support, assists with general accounts payable processes, and other duties as assigned. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.
Hiring Range
Budgeted starting hourly rate is $23.50
Key Responsibilities
Monitors and reviews restricted funds to ensure compliance with donor and other restrictions. Prepares various reports and reconciliations, reviews and monitors fund revenue and expense activity, budgets and fund balances. Maintains the general ledger and prepares journal entries for restricted funds.
Assists both internal and external constituencies with various financial matters. Assist with revamping financial reporting processes in Banner. Prepare various schedules related to the annual audits and the year-end closing process.
Responsible for the reconciliation of monthly, quarterly and annual accounts, including various bank accounts, investment accounts, and general ledger accounts. Prepares and reviews journal vouchers related to cash and various other operating accounts on a daily basis.
Serves as back-up for the fixed asset sub-ledger including, but not limited to, updates of capital asset additions, disposals and/or transfers. Monitors and reviews plant fund budgets through capital projects. Assist with administering the fixed asset inventory process.
Coordinates with the Office of Technology Services on Banner upgrades in an effort to ensure implementation of new accounting standards. Provides department and University-wide training for the Budget and Finance modules on the appropriate Banner platform.
Assists in the oversight of Banner Security for the Finance module, including set-up, maintenance of employee access, as well as ongoing training of the modules capabilities. Serves as the secondary security liaison of the financial module of BANNER.
Provides assistance with wire transfers and ACH entries in CashPro as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
