As part of Georgetown's Prospect Development team, this individual will play a key role in shaping the university's fundraising success. This individual's work will directly impact major gift cultivation, campaign planning, and donor engagement strategies. The Prospect Development team facilitates a data-driven approach to fundraising by gathering, analyzing, and maintaining prospect information, tracking engagement, and ensuring strategic portfolio and pipeline management. This team plays a critical role in identifying new prospects, assessing portfolio performance, and managing the assignment and movement of prospects to optimize fundraising potential.
As a Prospect Development Consultant, this individual will serve as a strategic partner to a portfolio of fundraising and engagement teams. This individual will collaborate closely with Development Officers, Prospect Research, and Analytics colleagues to enhance the quality and effectiveness of Georgetown University's prospect pipeline. This individual's role will focus on prospect strategy, portfolio health, and accountability, ensuring that fundraising teams have the insights and support needed to meet institutional priorities.
In addition, this individual will contribute to campaign operations and pipeline forecasting, supporting leadership with comprehensive prospect analyses and portfolio insights. This position will be working closely with an Associate Director, Prospect Development in the day-to-day tasks and fulfilment of this role. This individual will also ensure the integrity of prospect data in Salesforce (GU360) and maintain best practices in prospect management, research, and analytics. Their primary responsibilities will be:
- Portfolio maintenance & cleanup (data entry, tracking moves, updating prospect records).
- Research support (basic prospect research, list building, assisting with identification).
- Data integrity & reporting (generating reports, tracking progress, ensuring clean data in GU360).
- Meeting preparation & follow-up (helping with portfolio review prep, summarizing insights).
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required -or- equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Initiative, curious, desire to learn, and enjoys problem solving
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with research and analysis methodologies and data visualization techniques
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- An ability to investigate, interpret, and compile personal and confidential data and present information in a clear and cohesive manner
- Must be detail-oriented with an inquiring mind and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to use independent judgment and to work in a collaborative team environment, exhibiting good listening skills and responsiveness
- Proficiency with databases and data visualization tools required
- Demonstrate knowledge of how to communicate for influence; mastery of variant communication and learning styles, and the ability and willingness to flex or adapt for different situations and styles
- Experience with Python, Excel/Google Sheets, Salesforce and/or a willingness to learn

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$41,926.00 - $65,090.00
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
