Two Visiting Full-Time Faculty Positions in Physics

Description
The Department of Physics at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for two visiting full-time faculty positions for the 2025-2026 academic year to begin in August 2025. These appointments may be renewable for a second year, depending on departmental needs and performance. The physics department includes eight tenured and tenure-track faculty members, a laboratory supervisor, a machinist, and approximately 50 majors and minors. Current faculty have expertise in the fields of experimental astrophysics, theoretical particle physics and cosmology, experimental condensed matter and soft matter physics, and both theoretical and experimental atomic physics. Additional information about the department can be found at: https://www.holycross.edu/academics/programs/physics.

Visiting full-time faculty teach 3 courses each semester and are eligible to apply for support to present at a conference or attend a professional development program through the Provost's Supplemental Research Fund. The College will support reimbursement of relocation costs within its published policies. All full-time appointments offer competitive salaries and include full benefits.

Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching and inclusive pedagogies as informed by current practice and scholarship in the field. The ideal candidate will be prepared to teach both introductory courses and, potentially, advanced courses in classroom or laboratory settings. Specific teaching assignments will be determined by the candidate's expertise and the department's curricular needs.

Application Instructions
Please submit a letter of application; a current curriculum vitae; a statement on teaching philosophy and interests; graduate transcripts (Ph.D. preferred); and two confidential letters of recommendation.

In your cover letter, please address the ways you might contribute to and further the College's mission as a Jesuit, undergraduate liberal arts college, and its core commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The College of the Holy Cross uses Interfolio to collect all faculty job applications electronically. Please submit all application materials to https://apply.interfolio.com/162388.
