About the opportunity:
The Corporate and Executive Learning Practice within the D'Amore-McKim School of Business prepares executives and corporate teams for leading in the new realities of business. We co-design transformative, real-time executive readiness experiences and unique career-long learning opportunities for globally distributed teams within the world's best companies. Fortune 500 companies trust us to bring their signature corporate programs to life more easily, effectively, and innovatively than they can do on their own. We design and deliver executive education experiences in a range of formats: fully in-person programs, hybrid in-person programs, fully live virtual and in scalable digital course formats.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Program Manager is a key member of the Executive Education team, responsible for managing the design, development, and delivery of a unique portfolio of corporate programs. This role requires expertise in program development, including the creation of custom programs tailored to meet the specific needs of clients. The Senior Program Manager also has Practice-wide operations responsibilities, including process management and tracking of financials and contracting. Working in close partnership with the Associate Director, Senior Directors, and other practice leaders, the Senior Program Manager ensures that corporate programs meet and exceed the expectations of clients, participants, and faculty or subject matter experts. Through both program development and operational leadership, this role plays a critical part in the success of the Executive Education team.
Program Management:
The Sr. Program Manager works independently and with others in the Practice, to coordinate and manage the development and delivery of corporate learning programs. The Senior Program Manager also serves as a team lead to coordinate activities of others.
These programs often involve multiple modalities (live virtual; face to face) and may be coordinated virtually, on campus or in geographies off campus locally or globally. The Senior Program Manager assists in the selection of, and the coordination with, faculty and external facilitators to design and deliver high quality executive programs.
Program Development & Customization:
- Lead the design and development of custom programs tailored to specific client needs, ensuring all elements align with client and program expectations.
- Manage program deliverables, milestones, and tasks, coordinating with team members to ensure smooth execution.
- Negotiate terms and manage vendor relationships to support program delivery.
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the preparation and delivery phases.
Business Development:
- Support new business development efforts
- Provide research support for cultivating prospective clients and keeping abreast of competitive practices.
- Write proposal drafts and create PowerPoint pitch decks to support new client development.
- Contribute to the department's strategic planning activities
Specific operations tasks may include:
- Creating, maintaining & tracking financials for the Practice
- Work with program managers in the reconciliation of program budgets.
- Create end of year reports as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree is required
- Fluency and comfort in developing and managing corporate programs
- Experience in a higher education setting preferred but not required.
- Able to form and operationalize short- and long-term program and project plans
- Ability to negotiate and execute agreements with vendors
- Ability to manage to deadlines and work well under pressure
- Ability and willingness to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to work from campus at least 2 days per week
- Ability to travel locally (locations near campus); and elsewhere in the U.S. and internationally as program delivery schedules dictate
- Ability to interact effectively with high-level corporate constituents
- Ability to interact effectively with faculty and senior level university administrators
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- High level of proficiency with standard office software and an aptitude to quickly gain proficiency in new office software
- Knowledge and skills related to executive education program development and management.
- Basic understanding of financial acumen and willingness to seek to gain proficiency on processes needed
- Ability to lift and transport program materials (~10lbs) if needed
