Position: Summer High School/Middle School Instructors (Various subjects)
Programs: Summer Discovery and Junior DiscoverySummer Discovery and Junior Discovery- The School of Continuing Studies is seeking an instructor for the indicated sections of the Discovery courses listed below. All course descriptions may be found here.
*These are non-credit courses for high/middle school students. This role is unique and different from a traditional graduate assistant role.
Length: 2-Week Program.
Pay: $1,125 per section taught.

Each summer, Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies hosts Junior Discovery for Middle School students and Summer Discovery for High School students, offering motivated middle school and high school students the opportunity to learn more about a subject area of their interest. The programs offer various 2 hour a day, noncredit enrichment courses over nine class periods.

Instructors are responsible for:
- developing the curriculum;
- providing academic materials and disseminating course information;
- delivering lectures and facilitating discussions;
- providing hands-on learning activities.
A course syllabus with a course description, learning objectives, assignments, and assessments are also required for review by the School of Continuing Studies. Class sizes average between 8-20 students.
Additional Information: All Instructors must attend a training session and successfully complete a background check prior to the start of the Program.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with course subject matter.
K-12 and/or Undergraduate teaching experience is preferred.
An ideal candidate will be able to teach all sections of a course.
