Pay Range: $19.47 - $21.63 Per hour
Hours: This position is performed on our campus during core business hours between 8:30AM-5:00PM during the academic year, 8:00AM-4:30PM during the summer.
Flexible work arrangements are considered upon successful completion of training of core job functions.
Hours may vary based on operational needs.

Job Description:
Syracuse University's Office of Human Resources is seeking a service-oriented professional to join our team of HR generalists. Our HR Shared Services team consists of 18 employees and is responsible for assisting almost 5,000 staff and faculty. The HR Shared Services Representative is our campus community's first point of contact for various HR needs. The HR Shared Services Representative will assist in communicating and administrating extensive HR policies, employee benefits, and systems support to the campus community, including internal HR stakeholders. Communication with employees is primarily by phone or email to provide the highest quality of service in a timely manner. This position is responsible for performing the duties and responsibilities under general supervision and instruction.

What You Will Do:In this role, you will provide specialized assistance to various employee inquiries, identify issues, and escalate as needed. Additionally, you will perform the following:
Administrative Support
- Provide benefit administration, including new employee benefit onboarding, assist with benefit changes using HRIS and vendor portals, respond to employee questions, process qualifying events, and ensure the employee provides proper documentation.
- Assist employees with in-depth and sensitive concerns regarding HR-related benefits.
- Ensure compliance with university policies as well as federal and state regulations.
Communication Support
- Respond to and resolve inbound calls, emails, and walk-ins from both internal and external customers.
- Utilize HR systems and tools to effectively communicate HR data, policies, and procedures to the campus community and HR stakeholders and leadership.
- Distribute action items and escalates complex issues, as needed, to Tier II or Senior Advisor.
Transactional Support
- Review, verify, and enter data to Syracuse University Human Resources information systems.
- Process changes to employee data, benefits, and compensation.
- Review and analyze HR data for accuracy and compliance purposes.
Research and Audit Support
- Retrieve data from the HRIS or other reporting tools Perform audits for federal and legal compliance as well as University policies, procedures, and eligibility (compensation, system, benefit plans, pay notices, I-9, social security, etc.).
- Continuous evaluation and monitoring of audits in search of opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
