The Turkish Program at Georgetown University invites applications for a non-tenure line, Assistant Teaching Professor to begin in January of 2025.

The teaching load is 12 credits per semester, with teaching responsibilities at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Additional responsibilities include service to the Turkish Program, the ability to collaborate and team-teach, and participation in national and/or international organizations for teachers of Turkic Languages.

We are looking for candidates with specialization in Turkish Language Pedagogy. The position requires native or near-native Turkish, excellence in teaching, and the ability to teach language and contemporary issues at all levels. Candidates with the ability to teach post-Advanced courses in Turkish language are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Turkish Language or a related field is required prior to appointment start date. Candidates must show strong promise of excellence in teaching as well as research.

The projected base salary range is $58,927 - $65,474. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
