Salary/Pay Range: $33,945-$43,800 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

Summary

This position serves as the first point of contact for the International Affairs Office in the Division of Inclusive Culture and Belonging and supports the International Affairs Staff in assisting all UCCS students, faculty, and staff interested in international program opportunities. The position will support the retention of international students and scholars on the UCCS campus. This position will act as a resource in the development of academic partnership programs and support of international delegation visits. Areas of responsibility include international student and scholar services and education abroad general information directory, overseeing office student employees, and managing other university processes to support the International Affairs Office. This position is expected to facilitate programming and support.

Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide front desk reception, greet walk-in visitors, answer phone calls, responding to office emails, answer questions about Education Abroad and International Student and Scholar Services and assist in all areas within the International Affairs Office.
  • Connect students with mental health resources, organize wellness workshops, events, and create awareness campaigns to promote mental health and well being.
  • Provide information for education abroad scholarship resources/sources and mentor education abroad student assistants and volunteers, utilizing TerraDotta system.
  • Equip students with tools for understanding education abroad and meets with students one-on-one in various formats, including in-person and online.
  • Act as a point of contact for international students and scholars, providing guidance on visa/compliance requirements, connecting students with essential guidance in areas such as housing, class registration and other appropriate resources and services.
  • Maintain records of student and scholar information, using Sunapsis/prepare materials, attend,and support orientation.
  • Support social/cultural events including participation in the iBuddy club and events hosted with the International Affairs Office.
  • Responsible for the bi-weekly delivery for the IA newsletter and maintenance of an accurate and up-to-date distribution list.
  • Support the facilitation of culturally responsive educational training, for international student retention and success.
  • Promotes education abroad on-campus through education abroad events, resource fairs, social media, and classroom presentations.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks including mail handling, office supply management, equipment delivery, filing, data entry, and database maintenance to ensure smooth office operations, and clean appearance.
  • Collaborate with university departments and divisions as needed ensuring timely and accurate information, with excellent customer service.
  • Create promotional flyers and social media designs regularly to help maintain and update the International Affairs website and social media platforms.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments for students, faculty, and staff with advisors and counselors, while also escorting visitors to appointments and offering pertinent information about office services.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least one year of full-time professional experience working in customer service, advising or receptionist in an office setting.
  • Experience in website maintenance and social media marketing.
  • Due to government regulations must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. Legal Permanent Resident.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five or more years of full-time professional experience
  • Previous experience living, studying, or working in a different cultural context.
  • Experience in project planning and project management.


Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally required to move. Tasks may involve using a computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
