Salary Range: $50,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Because this appointment is temporary, you will not be eligible to receive all of the benefits normally provided to members of the university staff under the standard University of Colorado benefits programs. You are not eligible to receive paid vacation leave, medical, or retirement benefits. However, you are eligible to accrue sick leave and you will accrue 0.034 hours of sick leave per hour worked.

Summary

The Department of Mathematics, University of Colorado Springs (UCCS), invites applications for a full-time visiting instructor position, starting August 2025. Duties include teaching twenty-four semester credit hours per academic year (typically 6-8 courses at the undergraduate level, both in person and online), along with service in support of departmental goals in undergraduate education. Funding for this position is currently expected to last one year.

Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Classroom teaching.
  • Supervising and advising students.
  • Serving on committees.
  • Participating in department meetings.


Qualifications

  • A Master's in Mathematics or a closely related field is required.

  • Must have teaching experience.

  • A PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field is preferred.
