Job Summary:

The Usher primarily assists audience members with performance seating and directs patrons to various JLC personnel and locations, as well as coatroom duty and patron greeting.

Job Description:

Job duties include:

1. Collect/scan tickets from patrons as they enter theaters.
2. Assist patrons with seating before and during performances.
3. Direct patrons to other JLC services when needed, such as public telephones, restrooms, hearing assist equipment, etc.
4. Distribute performance playbills to patrons when available.
5. Assist with other front of house activities when needed, such as coatroom, reception assistance, etc.
6. Monitor audience compliance with JLC house rules, such as no standing or sitting in aisles, late seating policies, etc.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Good communication skills.
Good customer service skills.
Able to follow instructions.
Ability to walk, stand for long period of time, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, lift and/or carry (0-20 lbs) and occasionally push 0-50 lbs. occasionally.

Desired Qualifications

Work or volunteer experience in the performing arts.

Pay Rate: $15.00/hr

Part-Time Staff Under 20 Hours are not eligible to participate in certain benefit offerings at the College, including tuition reimbursement, tuition waiver, or health insurance. Part-Time Staff Under 20 Hours will be eligible for paid time off dependent on scheduled hours.
