St. Catherine University and the Biology Department invite applications for a nine (9) month, 1.0 FTE Assistant Professor of Biology for a 1-year contract for Academic Year, 2025-2026.

This position will teach lab and lecture courses including anatomy and physiology courses, general education biology courses, and other biology courses as needed.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Teach anatomy and physiology and introduction to human anatomy lecture and lab courses. This includes preparing course curriculum, lecture delivery, lab set up, grading, and course management.
  • Attend department meetings, attend school meetings, help set up and troubleshooting of lab equipment, contribute to assessment goals of the department, interface with other faculty to understand our student population, interface with student support offices to best align student support to needs.
  • Stay abreast on current pedagogical developments in field through journal . Since this is a 1 year full time teaching emphasis position, significant scholarship is not expected.



Salary Range: $50,000 - $51,000

The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. Minimum Qualifications:
  • MS in field of biology or related fields, with expertise in anatomy and physiology instruction.
  • Required at least 2 years of university level teaching experience as primary instructor for both lecture and lab sections.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Need to be proficient in use of LMS Canvas and BioPac equipment.
