St. Catherine University and the School of Nursing invite applications for a eleven (11) month, .75 FTE Assistant Professor and Simulation Coordinator position within our Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP) program.
The School of Nursing requires a part-time Nurse Practitioner Simulation Coordinator Faculty, licensed and certified as an NP, with experience in nursing education and NP practice to teach in our DNP program. This faculty member will be responsible for using teaching and educational theories/methodologies to meet student learning outcomes and program objectives. Primary responsibilities include needs assessments, planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating simulation-based learning across the nurse practitioner curriculum. Secondary responsibilities include supporting faculty development, coordination of simulation and lab activities across programs and departments, and adherence to policies and procedures. This position reports to the DNP Director.
Responsibilities:
- Teach graduate-level nursing courses, primarily developing and leading NP simulations, but may also teach in clinical courses, didactic courses, theoretical content, and additional graduate prelicensure courses (as needed).
- Professional practice faculty help promote the integration of academic content with practical experience.
- Participate in scholarly activities, professional activities, and service obligations aligned with School of Nursing faculty norms.
- Engage in service to the School of Nursing, the DNP Program, the University, and the nursing profession by participation/leadership in standing/ad hoc committees, and/or other service opportunities in the University and in the nursing professional community.
Salary: $75,600 - $78,000

The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. St. Catherine reserves the right to modify or adjust compensation depending on University needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in nursing with four years of experience in NP practice
- Current unencumbered RN and APRN license in Minnesota
- Interest in and a desire to learn best practices for simulation in nursing education
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in nursing (DNP or PhD)
- Experience using healthcare simulation methodology
- Experience teaching nursing courses
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator
- Two years or more of nursing education experience
- Experience teaching and mentoring diverse student populations
