Office of Annual Giving

Job Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director for Development, the Director of Annual Giving will strategically and tactically plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive annual giving program focused on shaping sustainable growth in donor count and giving, providing annual operational support for Georgia Southern University.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and provide strategic direction for annual gifts and annual giving coordination among all internal and external constituents.
  • Identify, plan, implement, evaluate, and oversee all annual giving channels.
  • In collaboration with all major and planned giving officers and the Assistant Director of Development, develop and implement a comprehensive communication and solicitation strategy involving email, texting, direct mail, phone, and crowdfunding.
  • Develop and manage student philanthropy initiatives, including the annual senior gift effort.
  • Plan and manage the annual employee campaign, including volunteer recruitment and management, as well as community giving initiatives or other special annual giving initiatives as developed.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, manage, and evaluate Annual Giving department staff.
  • Manage the department budget and allocation of financial and human resources.
  • Plan, execute, lead, and evaluate all marketing, fundraising, and operational elements of Georgia Southern's annual Day of Giving campaign, Only for Southern.


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience
  • Five (5) years of related work experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, special event coordination, constituent relations or volunteer management


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
  • Experience managing an Annual Fund program at a university or nonprofit with demonstrated campaign success
  • Demonstrated understanding of donor/data analytics driving strategies for successful implementation of annual giving initiatives
  • Experience with enterprise donor management software, preferably Blackbaud Raisers Edge
  • Personnel management experience


Proposed Salary

$60,617 - $77,306

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
