The University of Tennessee at Martin includes the main campus and six regional centers located throughout west and central Tennessee. UT Martin consists of five colleges which offer more than 100 academic areas of study within 18 undergraduate degree programs. The campus also offers seven graduate degrees within 17 specialized concentrations. UT Martin is also the UT System's largest provider of online education. UT Martin has created partnerships with other universities in Tennessee to provide roadmaps to professional degree programs, such as law and veterinary medicine at UT Knoxville, pharmacy at the UT Health Science Center in Memphis, and public service at Lipscomb University. UT Martin has also partnered with three Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology to develop 1+3 programs in three areas of study in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences.

The Opportunity
UT Martin invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Provost of Academic Affairs.

Reporting directly to the Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Associate Provost's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Coordinating faculty affairs and student experiences.

Producing report for Quality Assurance Funding to Tennessee Higher Education Commission.

Supervising directors of the Center for Teaching and Learning and the Center for Global Education and Experience.

Overseeing Academic Appeals procedures for students on Academic Suspension.

Planning and running Fall and Spring Commencement, Convocation, and other university-wide events sponsored by Academic Affairs.

Coordinating all General Studies (GENS) courses.

Facilitating new faculty orientation program.

Serving as administrative representative for several Faculty Senate committees.

Serving as Academic Affairs liaison to Athletics, Student Affairs, and Advancement.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
An earned Ph.D. or terminal degree and previous experience in academic administration or a leadership position are required. The Associate Provost will bring a strong record of teaching and scholarly achievement and should have evidence of scholarly or creative accomplishments to justify a tenure-track appointment at the rank of associate professor. Demonstrated experience with faculty development and experience working with underrepresented faculty, staff and students are preferred.
