St. Catherine University welcomes applications for a full-time Manager of Academic Advising position.
The Manager of Academic Advising Operations coordinates and oversees the day-to-day functioning of the Office of Academic Advising. This leader supervises a team of academic advisors and collaborates to develop and deliver ongoing professional development to academic advisors and faculty mentors. The Manager also serves as an academic advisor, assisting CFA and CFW undergraduate students in planning degree programs, choosing majors, and resolving difficulties experienced in coursework.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as the Advising Team Lead on onboarding and registration for CFA students, partnering with Admissions and the Adult Resource Center.
- Oversee registration events for new CFW and CFA students, collaborating with Campus Life and the Office of Academic Success to integrate registration and orientation programming.
- Assist students with degree requirements, major requirements, and scheduling of classes.
- Assist students who wish to take courses or majors at other ACTC institutions.
- Counsel students experiencing academic challenges and difficulty in choosing a major, making appropriate referrals to offices including Counseling, Career Development, and the Tutoring & Learning Center.
- Supervise 5-6 academic advisors, providing ongoing support, identifying goals for development and improvement, and completing appraisal development forms.
- Partner with AVP for Academic Success to offer professional development programming to academic advisors and faculty mentors.
- Participate in university-wide communities: Academic Appeals Committee; Tuition Appeals Committee; and other committees and working groups as assigned.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices within Academic Advising.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- Four years of experience in academic advising or in a comparable role that involves navigating student academic concerns.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in computer technology including spreadsheets
- Attention to detail
- The ability to interact well with students, parents, faculty and staff
- An appreciation for diversity
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree or equivalent combination of education or experience
- Experience in event planning (both in-person and virtual)
