Purpose of Position

The Enterprise Audio Visual (AV) Specialist requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to troubleshoot and assist with various size and complex AV Systems.

Under close supervision and with minimal latitude for the use of independent judgment, responsible for assisting in teaching and supervising personnel who perform research and prepare materials in the field of audio visual communications.

Essential Functions

Plans, organizes, and conducts conferences, workshops, demonstrations, meetings, and classes concerning the application and utilization of audio visual (AV) methods, material and devices.

Initiates projects, promotes utilization of materials, and conducts research in the AV field.

Advises and assists in the selection, production, and supplying of AV materials.

Participates as contributor and consultant to professional organizations and publications.

Originates public relation programs concerning AV communications.

Produces or directs the production of AV materials and systems.

Represents the department at meetings.

Helps plan the scheduling, use, and maintenance of AV equipment.

Troubleshoots and performs minor repairs on equipment.

Interviews and trains personnel.

Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

Complies with all State and University policies.

Other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Education required: Bachelor's degree from four year college or university within area of assigned responsibility.

Minimum Experience required: Three (3) years of related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
