Working Title: Manager of Operations- Office of the Controller

Job Summary/Essential Functions: Please Note: We will give 3 day's notice prior to closing this position.The Manager of Operations for the Office of the Controller is responsible for oversight of business operations and provides supervision and direction for Accounts Payable, Payroll and Travel offices.

Conditions of Employment: This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt or, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check for continued employment

Required Discipline(s) for Degree: Accounting, finance, business administration or closely related field.

Background Check (Unsupervised access to developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 18): No

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5-pm (some nights and weekends)

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or closely related field.

Five years of progressively responsible operational experience in areas, such as, accounts payable and payroll.

Two years of advanced payroll tax compliance experience.

Three years of experience supervising professional and fiscal support staff.

Experience demonstrated with integrated, enterprise level accounting software systems.

Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:

High level proficiency using enterprise level payroll and accounts payable systems, ad hoc query tools and/or report writers.

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Experience interpreting and implementing applicable federal/state tax guidance.

General knowledge and ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles for financial reporting pertaining to public higher education (e.g., GASB, NACUBO, etc.).

Experience designing, implementing, documenting and/or evaluating internal control systems.

Demonstrate and foster a culture of ethical leadership, a commitment to diversity, and encourage a supportive team-oriented work environment.
