Administrative Assistant

Job Description Summary:

The University of La Verne has a position available for an Administrative Assistant & Registration Specialist for PDC Programs. This is a full-time position reporting half-time to the Director of Extended Learning and half-time to the Associate Registrar.

Specific Duties:

The duties of this position, for the Extended Learning Department include:

Coordinating the administrative activities and assisting with special projects and tasks as assigned, such as: assist the Director in preparing reports, materials and arrangements for meetings, conferences and classes; provide high quality customer service to students, staff and faculty; meet with students and provide information and/or process registration requests; maintain Extended Learning’s registration system and print reports as directed; manage the departmental mail and e-mail and receive incoming calls; coordinate and schedule events and reserve facilities as needed. Supervise student workers. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

The duties of this position, for the Registrar’s Office include:

Assist with PDC student population in all aspects of transcript and registration processes. Provide support to students, staff and faculty in the usage of the MyLaVerne self-service webpage. Support Degree Completion Coordinator as needed. Perform various duties as needed at Graduation Fair and Commencement Ceremonies. Provide information to students, staff and faculty regarding University and Registrar’s Office policies and procedures. Provide high quality customer service at the front counter, over the phone and via e-mail manage the main Registrar phone line, manage and schedule academic events in Banner, perform clerical task and other projects and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires an AA degree and experience in a higher education setting is preferred. The hiring range for this position is dependent upon qualifications and department equity. Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, working 50% of time in Extended Learning and the other 50% in the Registrar’s Office.
