Job Summary:

The School of Management at the University of San Francisco seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at an open rank starting Fall 2013 in the field of nonprofit management.

Job Responsibilities:

The School seeks applicants with expertise in at least one of the following areas: nonprofit/philanthropic history and theory, governance, leadership, financial management, human resources, international NGOs, and earned income and government contracting. Applicants should have successful experience teaching nonprofit management and at least three years relevant professional experience is preferred. We also seek applicants who have proven experience in leading graduate programs and who are interested in leading USF’s Master of Nonprofit Administration (MNA) program.

Minimum Qualifications:

A successful candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications: (1) an earned doctorate in public administration/policy, nonprofit management or a related field (e.g., sociology, economics, political science, business/management, organizational behavior) by the time of appointment; (2) an established or emerging research program in nonprofit management; and (3) an expectation of excellence in teaching nonprofit management. The candidate will teach mostly if not solely graduate MNA courses and will undertake scholarly research in a collaborative and supportive environment that welcomes interdisciplinary and practice-oriented scholarship as well as discipline-based theoretical work.
