Director of Information Technology (213UC3556)

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a Director of Information Technology position for our IT Department. This position reports directly to the Dean of UC Blue Ash. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, Ohio with an enrollment of approximately 6100 students. The Director provides leadership and coordination for the college's technology services by working closely with the Dean and decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The Director also will plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities of the college's IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. As leader of UCBA IT, the Director is expected to create and sustain a culture of service. Specific responsibilities of this position will include: Strategic leadership, operational management, and technical support of the college information technology operations and services; Participation in collaborative technology planning processes to establish annual and long-range technology goals and strategies; Provide direction and leadership in the review of present IT systems and operations and identify new information technologies to be introduced and integrated within the organization; Provide leadership to develop, implement, and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans as well as lead the development and implementation of effective and reasonable policies and practices to secure protected and sensitive data; Represent the college in university-wide, regional, and national consortiums and collaborations; Establish operations and maintenance routines; Manage administrative and instructional support technology; Manage day-to-day technical operations and oversee assigned staff; and Manage a financial budget for the department. The ideal Director of IT will utilize effective communication and facilitation skills at all levels including faculty, staff, executive leadership, end-users, and vendors, both technical and non-technical.  

Job Description The primary focus for positions within this IT Broadband class is oversight of day-to-day operations of large-scale unit or multi-units within an organization in support of the university's mission. Provide robust and cost-effective services to a complex and diverse community. Oversee unit budget to ensure the delivery of quality services and ongoing renewal and development.  

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or relevant degree with 5 years of experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, with 7 years of experience; or associate degree with 9 years of experience, or a combination of relevant education and 11 years of relevant experience. Experience must include at least 3 years of supervision.  

Ideal Qualifications: Prefer high level technical abilities including, but not limited to, windows server administration, network architecture, and technology support. ITIL Foundations Certification is preferred. Experience working in higher education is also preferred.
